WOLF WOMEN

Join a small group of like-minded women, all connected to Tamara Paskey-Alexander and the women she loves, for a transformational photography project. This is not like any previous portrait session, this is a creation of thought-provoking art. Tamara has been drawn more and more to earthy and raw images. Seeing women embrace their wildness and shed their perceived expectations of what they “should” look like gives her so much energy and inspiration. While recently working through some energy blocks, Tamara saw a repeated theme of wolves popping up in music, visuals, and dreams. This was the sign to turn it into something bigger. Shadow figures, creatures digging in the dirt, and dark animal spirits lurking in the woods will be present in this project, which is the perfect time during October.

What is this project for? This image collection will eventually be pitched to a gallery as an immersive exhibition to inspire more women to get in touch with their wild, unapologetic selves. It will not be released publicly until the exhibition (or if Tamara decides on an online release)

At sunrise on Tuesday, October 14th, rain or shine, we will trek into the Quinalt, WA rainforest. No makeup is needed, get ready to be dirty and wild. We will all support each other and create a safe space where no one has any expectations of body image. We are here to release everything that has been holding us back. Tamara will find a few interesting spots to stop at and create images on her shot list, and will spontaneously create images as she is inspired in the moment.

Please join the Facebook Group to arrange lodging and transport from the Seattle airport. There are 2 additional cabins available next to the one Tamara is staying in. Costs will be shared amongst whoever else you are lodging with.

The Details:

Monday, Oct. 13th: Afternoon- checkin to AirBnb cabins. (arrange cost-share of lodging & rental SUVs with the other women participating) Dinner together in one of the cabins

Tuesday, Oct. 14th: Sunrise, leave in as few vehicles as possible around 7am to hike one of the trails nearby. Photoshoot in several areas throughout the forest. **You will get dirty- bring hiking boots, a rain jacket, and a bag/backpack to hold a towel, wipes, and water. We will rest, eat, and spend time together the rest of the day. *Possibility of bonfire photos.

Wednesday, Oct. 15th: Breakfast & coffee together. Check out of AirBnbs, head to airport

Things to Note:

This is the opposite of any studio session you might have experienced with Tamara, or any other portrait photographer. This is a true art project. This is not pretty, or sexy… it is meant to evoke emotion from viewers in an exhibit setting. This is the time to let go of all of your insecurities. Skin folds, soft bellies, stretchmarks… all loved and a part of the natural world.
Your model release is irrevocable. Tamara will not disclose your name publicly, and this will help keep you slightly anonymous, however the images will be out in the world forever. Please keep this in mind. If you have doubts of allowing your art nude photographs to be available for public viewing, please do not participate. If there is a chance of this affecting your job. Please do not participate.
To keep the project “unpublished”, which is sometimes very important to galleries, you will not receive digital copies of the images. If images are shared to Instagram, you are welcome to re-share to your own profile. But the images will not be permitted to print on your own, make editing changes to, or reproduce.
Since this is also a mini retreat for all of us, please do not bring anyone who is not participating in the photoshoot. Again, this is a safe space, and we want to foster an environment of trust and freedom.
